History comes alive on the Lakefront line of the North Shore Scenic Railroad! During our summer season several trains a day depart the historic Duluth Union Depot for a trip through downtown Duluth, Canal Park, along the shore of Lake Superior and deep into the majestic north woods. Fully narrated tours tell the history of Duluth, the harbor, and the stories of the railroads that built northern Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Two Harbors trip drops you a few city blocks from their historic lighthouse. Many interesting shops, DQ for the kid in all of us. Blackwood's fine lunch and dining.

What a delightful museum! It would take a day to see all adequately. Thank you for that opportunity. The ride on the Zephyr fulfilled all my hopes and wishes. The Dome Car was terrific, if a bit warm (sunny day, AC not at its best),...More

I had a wonderful time riding on the Steam Train in Duluth. It is an amazing experience, that is kept going by the wonderful volunteers & Railroad enthusiasts of the Duluth area. Ride the train, make memories, tell your family & friends.

We selected the dome car and I am glad we did. Our "porter" was delightful, efficient and added to the trip. The treats were good. I have not done the coach, but feel the view from the dome was better.

I doubt it and didn't see any dogs. The staff and volunteers at the Railroad are very approachable and would be able to answer your question by e-mail or phone
