The walk back to get to Andgleworm Lake is lengthy, but secluded and well traveled. If you continue on, the trail gets more challenging as you go. Backpacked and spent two night out here - need a permit - and it's a beautiful, moderate trip.

OK, the portage of over 2 miles is tough but that is the payoff. No noise, no crowds and peace and quiet for your whole stay! Find a point sticking out to reduce bugs. Fish for Northerns mostly.

It's about two miles in from the parking lot to the shores of Angleworm Lake. Along the way you go past a beaver pond, over a bridge, and through typical BWCAW scenery. We've always gone in August, and the bugs haven't been bad then.

Bring your bug repellent or wear netting over your face. Beautiful hike. A little long but a great workout. The lake is beautiful. A good three hour expedition. Pack a lunch. It's beautiful once you reach the lake.

A long day trip into the Boundary Waters but it was a great outing for the family and we enjoyed finding and seeing the pictographs.

A lo-o-o-ng hike through the trees gets you to this big lake. A trail of sorts goes around it in 14 miles. If you like hiking in the forest, this is a good hike. If you want big views, go elsewhere.

Angelworm Lake is really nice. Very pretty and serene. The views from around the lake are great. However, WARNING FOR HIKERS. There is a 'trail' that goes around the lake but because it is a Wilderness Area THE TRAILS ARE NOT MARKED. They want to...More
