The North American Bear Center is the only educational facility of its kind - it helps people learn from the bears themselves about bear behavior, ecology, and their relations with humans. There is a huge need for accurate information about bears worldwide and the mission of the non-profit North American Bear Center is to advance the long-term survival of bears worldwide by replacing misconceptions with scientific facts about bears

I drove from Colorado for this. The building and all the displays are world class. The "behind the scenes tour" was terrible. I was with probably 30 others, most of which had kids. Half the narrative was telling the parents to keep their kids 3-4'...More

There were many informational displays that taught my family a lot about the black bears. Watching the bears from the viewing area was a lot of fun and the behind the scenes tour was so fun. The only time in our lives we will get...More

An excellent small center, focused primarily on the black bear, but with good information about other bear species. The educational exhibits are very well done. The bears who live there are enclosed but the "behind the scene" tour is well worth it.

Behind the scenes was great!! Recommend for anyone. We had a chance to see Tasha and Ted while they got some treats.

My husband and I spent most of the day here. As an avid hiker and backpacker, this was a very welcomed learning experience for me. A very different perspective from the scare tactics and cautionary tales that usually surround bear education. One of the best...More

This center is very well laid out. From the many exhibits to the wonderful movie "The Bear Walker" to the amazing staff it was a fantastic experience. We spent quite a long time just watching the bears come and go in their habitat. Lucky spent...More

I would also say at least 2 hours. A lot of interesting information to learn. You definitely want to make sure you watch the bears as well.
