This is a gem of a space tucked in on the main street of the town. It has a multitude of ways to support the residents, and it is a true art center in the fact that it promotes and provided a safe open space for the invocation of creativity.
Thursdays are an Open Mic night and have a variety of music, there are Friday night concert series that are very unique musician types, book signings, photography club, a library in the back room that is open to everyone and quite a few kids books, art for sale, cards, and and artistic meeting space.
It is a quick jot in and out, they have a restroom, and water in the fridge. The volunteers that gallery sit are knowledgeable and know the area. Plus they are on Facebook. Worth stopping in on gallery days.

As you drive through America it is rare to get this piece of Americana. This little treasure is always changing to include variety; open mic music nights, concerts of musicians trying out new songs, artists of every genre on display, and a small retail space filled with hand crafted greeting cards. They support all local art. You will rub shoulders with the locals, enjoy n original tin ceiling, enjoy a complimentary glass of lemonade stand lemonade, see local art and artistic history, PLUS a bonus honor system book library in the back. Hit this one a few times and you will love it more and more.

Evansville is a tiny town, for sure, but the Evansville Art Center gets high marks for bringing big-city art and music to the area.
The exhibits here change regularly and they even have a rotating schedule of musicians (some are just "okay" MN locals and some really great and touring...Google before you go!)
The folks who run the place are super friendly and on music nights there is a dessert social during intermission!
Also, in the back room is a free library where you can choose to take a book and/or leave a book.
A great place to visit, all around.

The Evansville Art Center hosts monthly art exhibits ranging from oil paintings to fiber arts to photography to hand carved fish decoys.
It is the favorite venue of area musicians because it is a listening room with no bar noise, no tv, no dining noise. Just an audience that came specifically to listen to the music. First Friday concerts and 3rd Thursday Open Mic occur monthly.
Also has a free book lending library (no due dates/no fees) with a large selection of childrens books.
All activities are on a donation basis to this 501 c 3 non-profit.
