The trip to the falls is well worth it if you are in the area. Very, very scenic....there are a couple of overlooks....well worth your time....we liked these falls so well we additionally did the longer, more strenuous hike to Middle Falls.

These falls are breathtaking. I'm in awe every time I see them. It's a bit of a haul getting up there, but well worth the trip.

Leaving from the Grand Portage Stare Park, there is an easy trail on paved and wood walkways to this beautiful falls. We did early at 7:30am, with no one else on the trail, and great lighting for pictures.

Great little hike for almost anyone. Trail was moderate and well maintained with a couple nice places to view the falls. Definitely worth the time.

Really beautiful falls and quite easy to get to. Mostly paved trail and a gentle slope to walk the 1/2 mile. Have bathroom halfway up the trail and benches for resting.

My husband and I have been here twice and this is one of our favourite places to go to. It's on the left and few metres before the US-Canada border. We appreciate the tranquility there and love the feeling of being closer to the nature....More

The portage falls is right off of 61 on the Minnesota side of the border. You can see the border patrol/crossing from the entrance of the park. You do not cross into Canada.
