Spent the day here. That's all you need to see it all. The hour and a half boat ride was interesting and the narrative was historical. Quiet and relaxing day. Sandwiches are available at Mary Gibbs restaurant. 185 years of discovery of the headwaters of...More

View the lake from the headwaters or along the drive to the east entrance. It is a great view anytime - we were there in the early spring when there were few people. It can get crowded in mid summer.

Beautiful lake near Douglas Lodge and cabins in the park. Worth stopping in and visiting. Great paths to walk, eat at the lodge (seasonal?) and just sit outside and enjoy the great outdoors.

Nice lake to visit, right on one of the walking trails in Itasca state park. You can walk right down to the shore off of the trail.

This is an absolute must see in Minnesota. The park and lake are beautiful! I have only been there in the fall and winter and both times were nice. There are two visitor centers that do an excellent job of explaining how the lake was...More
