Wonderful cascades....more than I thought for a small area. So many spots for photo opportunities and the sound of the running water is incredibly peaceful. The hike throughout the park is easy to moderate at some places, but very doable for the average or beginner hiker.

This is a great little hike to some waterfalls. You don't have to walk very far to see the first waterfall sites which was very nice for us since we were exhausted from a wedding the night before but wanted to see the waterfalls still.

We did a fairly easy hike in to see the waterfalls and cascades. It wasn't too difficult to get to the first waterfall. There are longer hikes which we didn't do but met more serious hikers who'd done them.

This state park is really a gem. The waterfall trail is easily accessible on a half mile loop trail. There are numerous viewing sites along the paths . There are some stairs, but the trail is very manageable. You can park on Highway 61 and easily walk in to see the waterfalls. Lookout Mountain is within the park and we... More

Very nice hiking loop around the falls. Got lots of pictures of the cascades and mushrooms. Getting pictures of salmon spooning was a different plus.

Just a wonderful State Park with waterfalls, vistas on the shoreline on Lake Superior and even salmon spawning in the river. Nearby Grand Marais is very nice as well. Eat lunch at the Cascade Lodge just a half mile away.

Great waterfalls and right off the highway. What could be easier ?? Stop on highway 61 and walk up a couple of hundred yards to one of the best waterfall views on the whole north shore. Even if your passing thru or in a big hurry to get to your cabin this fast stop is a defiantly "MUST DO"

We have made several trips to the North Shore, and Cascade falls is a favorite. We like to head up the falls and then take the Superior Hiking trail up to the Look-out point. There is a fast steep way up, or a slow "Cross Country Ski" trail up. One good thing to know is at the top of the... More

This park is beautiful. Numerous waterfalls and lots of great hiking. A north shore must see. Due to all the rain, some of the paths were pretty wet and muddy. Boots would be a good idea.

We are very lucky to have such beautiful trails and parks in our state. Everybody should take some time to go out and explore the North Shore. You won't be disappointed. We were amazed that we have such majestic rivers and challenging hiking trails a few hours drive north.
