Nice place to hike and drive through. Saw several deer, geese, gross and many other birds. Lots of history tied to this area as well.

always fun to go thru this refuge n see what wildlife we can spot there are a few lakes and a nice long trail to follow with your vehicle every trip tru brings a spotting of some new wildlife

Check for ticks! We picked up plenty. The trails were marked and we learned about the wild rice and history of the place which was interesting.

A great year round treat. Fun self guided auto tour with map and points of interest. Lots of trails, with surprisingly varied habitat. Indian burial grounds. Good place to kayak and fish. We live ten minutes away and go all the time. Free admittance....can't beat...More
