I know there is a notice that says that dogs are not allowed in but I hoped that this related to the castle only and not the larger area of the grounds. How wrong I was - dogs are not allowed ANYWHERE ! This is...More

WalmerCastle is a fantastic place to visit any time of the year. The house is interesting and a visit is enhanced with the audio guide. Incidentally the children's interactive section is truly amazing too even for adults!! The gardens are beautifully kept and have been...More

This came as a marvellous surprise. The house has a very interesting Wellington exhibition and the table at which income tax was thought up. The gardens are beautiful and extensive. Good to go to Deal Castle as well as the structure is much the same...More

Went here with family from up North, I had never visited before but being a member of English Heritage gave it a go. What a treat, history we never knew, great castle and audio commentary, friendly helpful staff and lovely gardens and walks.

We only had a very limited time to explore this castle but the gardens were just beautiful. We had a quick look inside the rooms of the castle which is presented beautifully. Really need to come back to this castle and do it properly.

Had a lovely afternoon here. The castle is really interesting and especially all the information about Wellington and his time here. The gardens are stunning. One of the best double borders we have ever seen, beautifully colour coordinated from blues/mauves at one end leading up...More

A very interesting castle steeped in history with many well know figures having lived and/or visited there. The audio kits are well worth having to make the tour round more interesting. Well with a visit - the tea room is good too.
