On a recent visit to Minneapolis, friends took us to the Guthrie Theatre to see a play, Familiar. We all loved the play and loved the theatre. The bridge by the river was beautiful. The theatre was comfortable. Hope I get to go back again.

The play was fabulous and I highly recommend it. All components were covered - humor, poignancy, emotion, reality. The actors were great - we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Really awkward building and confusing to navigate. They have a lot of volunteers helping heard people around but it seems like they are compensating for poor architectural design. The show we saw was outstanding! “Look who’s coming to dinner” was really well set and played...More

The Guthrie is considered a "regional theater" but they stage excellent productions that rival (or exceed) most theater available anywhere. And the Jean Nouvel designed building is a magnificent and fascinating spectacle of modern architecture that should not be missed.

Professional theatre goes far beyond the stage. The Guthrie has assembled a cast of helpful, gentle assistants to show you what floor to find, where to eat and how to arrive at your seat. I've occupied just about every seat in the house and can't...More

We saw a great play but the actors/actresses were hard to hear - the Guthrie needs to invest in a good sound system. We enjoyed the endless bridge - do go and see it!

Love the Guthrie, always friendly helpful stall, spotless. Top notch performances, a variety of great restaurants nearby ( walking distance). Or eat there.

The Guthry theatre has a long and wonderful history. I would call it one of the best it the US. It has several stages and different performances. Some are naturally better some are not as good. The building itself is worth a visit. You can...More

Tbannikova, thank you for the review! While our building is open to the public, out behind-the-scenes and architecture tours do have a fee. Nonetheless, we're glad you had an enjoyable experience at the Guthrie. We hope to see you again soon!

Do whatever it takes to get you into this excellent venue. I suspect your first visit won't be your last and you will be able to judge for yourself whether premium pricing is warranted for "preferred" seating. Enjoy!
