Well Maintained with bike, hike, paddle. Mountain bike trails dried quickly after rain. The canoe launch was around the corner and down the hill, so some portage of canoe /kayak. Fishing looked productive, the kids coming off the lake had some good luck. Lake is...More

Large area of lakes and rivers. Beautiful vistas of the city and surrounding country. Nice place to go for a walk or just drive around if you don't have much time.

I'm a bit biased on this one as I grew up in this area. There were so many things to do we never got bored. Parks, lakes, parkways. Bikes, swimming, fishing, ball games of every sort. Overall great area.

The Minneapolis chain of lakes is not a man made attraction. This is a place to enjoy a bit of nature in the city. Think Central Park without the food vendors etc. rent a bike or canoe and relax.

This is great casual ride. For visitors check out the "green bikes" offered by MN Nice Ride. You'll have to put down a refundable deposit on your credit card and then pay about $6 for a day rental. Highly recommended!!

The lakes in Minneapolis provide a number of things to do. They are great to bike around, walk around, roller blade around or just enjoy the scenery. There are many fun shops and places to rent bikes etc.

Oh yes, in the summer, anywhere that has a patio allows dogs, and will offer water for them, lots of people run and bike with their dogs, there's a dog park over by Cedar Lake too - it's not big, but lots of shade.
