Lake Calhoun was beautiful. Very calm and quiet area to sit and relax. Beautiful old homes surround the lake which is great for us architecture buffs!

This lake is fun to walk around. Partially the people watching is what I enjoy, partly because it's fun to see the city skyline behind the lake. It's a little crowded sometimes, and if you eat a the Tin Fish, be prepared to wait in...More

4 out of 5 since our peddle boat was broken and caused us back pain... but the experience going under bridges with lush trees we loved! Will come back again, but to canoe with our toddler.

We spent a week in the Twin Cities while some people we know took their summer vacation to the beach. We are from Arkansas, and 'round here we "go to the lake." So it was amusing that in Minnesota this is going to the "beach."...More

The lake was busy and beautiful but we found great free street parking. Walked the whole stretch of the lake. Beautiful houses to look at on our walks. Loved the separate paths for bikers and walkers and the water fountains for people and pets. Great...More

I believe there are kayaks at Lake Calhoun. You can check the Minneapolis Park aboard site for the fee structure but I recall seeing them there.
