Beautiful waterfront path to walk/run/bike. Lots of park/playground areas for kids. Better to park a few blocks away and walk over to the lake area. We were lucky to catch the lake view on a clear day around sunset.

We lived on Lake Calhoun for 21 years. We felt like we lived in the country in the middle of a great city. Just minutes from downtown yet a world away. Great lake for rowing. Skulled here everyday on season. Ice sailing in winter. Walking, rollerblading, Rowbiking, swimmimg or just floating- you can do it all here.

Fourty one years ago we moved with a mile of Lake Calhoun to enjoy the lake all year round. We have walked it, biked it, canoed, kayaked it, and swam it, liveed as many sunrises and sunsets possible. This is the lake of energy, young families, and every age enjoy this lake. Frequently I'm stopped to take a photo of... More

We rented a NiceRide bicycle and made a loop around the park. Living in less-outdoor-friendly cities in Iowa, I was impressed with the trail system around this lake. There is a separate paved trail for bikers and for walkers which is incredibly helpful allows ease of riding, as well as pedestrian safety. Also, the bike trail is one way only.... More

Great place for a walk, run, or bicycle ride. Beaches, playground, volleyball area. Restaurants close by. Summer can rent canoes, kayaks and paddle boards. Can bring fishing boats and sailing.

Minneapolis is the City of Lakes. This is one of the best. Small boat house restaurant, ice cream stand and canoe rental. You can paddle from here under the bridge to Lake of the Isles (ringed by classic old mansions), then through the channel to Cedar Lake. This is a classic Minneapolis experience and an amazing thing to be able... More

Very relaxing and managed to get some exercise in too. Rented both Pedal Boats and Cruiser Bikes from Wheel Fun Rentals; excellent customer service and inexpensive. Get there early as Bikes and Boats go fast, especially on nice days.

Our daughter lives across the street from here and we waked the lake. Lots of water activities, bike rentals and boat rentals. The lake runs into other surrounding lakes. Great spot to visit, close to downtown.

This was my forth time in Minneapolis and I have never seen the Chain of Lake but this time I had an official tour. This lake as well as the others are wonderful. The neighborhoods around them range from cute to overwhelming.
