It is no longer a natural falls-- in the late 19th century it had to be stabilized to keep it from eroding to just rapids. Now a concrete apron but still very impressive--especially with hi-flows in the spring. First viewing place is the Stone-Arch bridge-- a 19th century railroad bridge that is now a pedestrian and bike only bridge just... More

This is a common place for people to come for family, senior, and engagement photos. it is beautiful. There is a lot of local history here, and there are many plaques along the way to tell the story. Walking paths are well maintained, and there are plenty of beautiful photo opportunities.

We initially stopped by here at night cause of the lighting on the bridge. We spent a good hour + Photographing the area. My Fiance wanted to go back the next day to get some day shots cause he loved all the ways this could be viewed. We went back the next day and probably spent another 2 hours walking... More

Powerful falls on the iconic Mississippi which power the flour mills of Pillsbury and General Mills. Be sure to walk the Stone Arch Bridge

This is one of my favorite places to take pictures because there is a wide range of backgrounds from nature to the city. There is also a nice park to walk around and explore a bit.

Was there in January, so didnt spend a ton of time out exploring the falls. However, they were very pretty. It is interesting that they are essentially man-made. The original falls were messed up in a tunneling attempt and this was the repair.

I used to take my kids here for walks and picnics. Very family friendly and safe. Nice outdoor activity at no cost. Beautiful nature.

I'm always fascinated with locks, canals, rapids, shoals etc ! And how man attempts to tame & utilise Mother Natures gifts ! The Falls are a perfect example of how much we have to meddle with nature to get our desired result. The Mighty Mississippi has only started her journey but when the Mills were operating she supplied the juice... More

During the winter it is pretty ugly, but it can be nice in the spring and summer when the weather is nice.
