Just about 3 miles around, Lake Harriet is the perfect size and ambiance for about a short hour's walk. This is the southernmost of the Minneapolis "Chain of Lakes" linking Cedar, Lake of the Isles, Calhoun and Harriet. There's also a dedicated bike path around the latter three and along the W side of Cedar, linking with the Minnepolis "Grand... More

I essentially grew up around this lake. 30 minutes to run around it, about an hour to walk it. There's a nice pavilion serving food in the summers, and good spots all around to lounge about.

A great place to walk...3 miles around with view of the bandshell. In the fall the changing colors. Summer...bandshell concerts and the concession stand food. Spring and summer? Rose garden. Look for the little troll house at the base of a tree. Good birding too.

In my opinion lake Harriet is the cleanest and most beautiful Lake in Minneapolis. It feels tucked away, it is very green all around and the houses around it are beautiful and well kept. I would highly recommend visiting if you haven't. Go there run, walk, or bike around the lake while observing the scenery and beautiful homes. Or if... More

I have spent many days walking around this beautiful lake. It is located within the city limits of Minneapolis. I think I remember it to be about 3-4 miles around--not quite sure. But the walk is not difficult.

I lived a block off Lake Harriet on east side and spent much time there. I definitely recommend the east side with rose gardens and park. Many weddings attended there and people really give you your space when it is happening. A must for the Minneapolis traveler.

I always enjoy walking this lake and seeing a variety of people on foot, bike, and occasional roller blades. The Peace Garden and the Rose Garden are must stops along the way.

There ain't no nothin' special about this lake. Just a big pit filled with dirty water and sad ducks.

I walk around Lake Harriet all the time. It's a great place to run or bicycle too. Summer time you can rent canoes or kayaks. People fish and go sailing. There are 2 beaches. Playground and picnic tables. A restaurant right on the north side of Lake (open in the summer). Concerts in the summer at the band shelter. Beautiful... More
