I know every major city has one but I think these beautiful old churches are still worth exploring. The Basilica of Mary stands as a gateway to downtown Minneapolis just off Highway 94. The interior is not elaborate or ostentatious but classically beautiful. The larger than life statues and colorful stained-glass windows are worth the effort to find parking and... More

If you are a tourist and like churches, you should definitely see this one. If this thought never occurred to you: go here and find out whether you like churches for sight-seeing ;) This one and the Cathedral of St. Paul are definitely the two must-sees in the Twin Cities. Another plus: Loring Park, the Sculpture Garden, and the Walker... More

Went here with my sister who is Catholic during a vacation. We often go to churches for site seeing. This was the best one I've ever seen. Beautiful. Worth the trip.

Very beautiful, ornate and great place to worship a Catholic mass. Lots of visitors from out of town but there's ample parking in a lot next to the church.

It was such a nice ceremony and such a beautiful place. They have done a lot of work restoring this beautiful old building and they are still doing a little work. As a Catholic I really enjoyed seeing the Basilica and the wedding ceremony was amazing.

It was a 2 for 1. Get to see a beautiful basilica and celebrate mass. What a gift! The people are so welcoming and nice. The architecture and stained glass is a true site to see.

You don't expect to find enormous basilicas in Minneapolis, but this is a wonderful edifice that is rooted in the European architectural tradition. The interior is magnificently decorated and truly presents an inspirational space to look, to wander, to meditate and to pray. This is one of those places that makes you pause and gives you a sense of God's... More

While roaming around in the city center, we stopped in to see the 100 year old Basilica. Its shear size is impressive. We were not able to go inside since there was a celebration of some sort going on.

This church is worth a visit. It has a real European flavor to it. It is walking distance from downtown and across from MN State and Technical College.

A must go for every Catholic and friendly for other visitors as well. It is a place of great beauty with an incredible liturgical experience. There are tours offered after some Masses and secret passages, too!
