This was the first Basilica in N America. I am not a follower of that religion, however, I do admire the contribution the Basilica make to our community. The pipe organ is not to be missed. Attend a concert if you can. Are you a friend of Bill W? The Saturday Night Live meetings are the best in the city.... More

I took a hundred pics in the church, but none of them can truly convey the beauty of that establishment. The stained glass was almost surreal. The colors were striking and bold. The architecture was remarkable. I'm all out of adjectives right now, so I'll end by saying it's the most majestic church I have ever seen. Definitely worth a... More

One of the best sites we toured. It was beautiful. Churches are not built like this in Texas. It was truly amazing.

Whether you're from out of town or you're a local who has never been here, you have to visit the Basilica of St. Mary. The architecture is breathtaking, the music is beautiful and you'll be warmly greeted as you enter. There is even a sign language interpreter at one Sunday Mass.

The architecture is stunning. Must go and visit, this first basilica built in the U.S. They do great work with the homeless, poor and needy of the city, so dropping a monetary donation there will be put to very good use.

Beautiful church - exquisite stained glass on two levels. Beautiful carved ceilings, lovely proportions. The organist was rehearsing when we were there, adding the perfect touch.

The basilica looks like an Italian basilica, well kept, beautiful, with many little details you shouldn't miss. Visit, walk around, and if you can, attend a service.

I had a couple of hours to kill before having to leave the Twin Cities. The Basilica was in walking distance of my hotel, and I wanted to see the stained glass windows that others on this forum had commented on. By coincidence, I entered the church as their Lenten Vespers began. The church proper was nearly empty, but the... More
