Nice Lake

This lake is a little quieter than Calhoun or Harriet, very beautiful for walking or biking around. Visit summer or winter.

With it's irregular shape and small isles full of birds, Lake of the Isles is the most charming of the many lakes in the Twin Cities. It is very popular on warm days with tons of people walking, jogging, biking around it, or canoeing/ Kayaking/ paddle-boarding on the water.

If you do not love crowds like Lake Calhoun has, then this is the lake for you. Less people, same beauty, lovely and tranquil.

While lake Calhoun and lake Harriet are my favorites, this was another lake both me and my husband enjoyed. A must if you enjoy being around a lake and see people. This place isn't crowded unlike Lake Calhoun and lake Harriet.

A walk around The Lake of The Isles will remind you of who built MPLS. Many of the mansions still exist with some being raised for a new money class. It's scenic in all seasons with various wild life of birds of all kinds. Eagles are a familiar sight. In the summer canoes and kayakers prevail.

I was lucky enough to spend Sunday on a visit here when it was about 60 degrees in February so there were many people out, dogs, skaters, runners, strollers - all enjoying the beautiful views and walking path around the lake. At one point you can see great views of the Minneapolis skyline. There were people ice fishing with a... More

This is one of my favorite places to go for a walk in the summer, however if it is a "nice" winter day it is worth it. The walk around the lake is is about 2.5 miles and you get to take in a great view of nature and some amazing houses.

This park not only shines in the summer but in winter too! We visited on a nice crisp winter weekend, We took advantage of the outdoor skating but there were plenty of people walking the lake, cross country skiing and having a romp with their dogs at the dog park. The skating area has a hockey rink in the center... More
