Went there on 12th July, hoping to do some shopping. However, many shops were not opened as the shopkeepers were still celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri. After much searching, we managed to buy some pulut rice, cashew nuts, corelle plates and bowls. Rantau Panjang is small enough to be covered on foot.

Shopping heaven for shoppers. Most products come from Thailand. Skilled bargainer could enjoy good low prices. Too many shops to enter. Local hawkers stall selling street food. I tried sausage with glutinous rice in it. Just okay I guess. Nearby is Sungai Golok that separates Thailand and Malaysia.

If you're buying goods in large quantity there , be prepared for tax charge during checkout at Custom Checkpoint. The location of Rantau Panjang is in Pasir... More

It's very challenging to walk in a very hot weather here. So wear cap or umbrella. You need to learn how to bargain from the seller, some seller gives a very good price but some mark up quite high. and please try their sticky rice ice cream!

Cookware everywhere. Tefal, Visions, Corell and they're cheaper than any discounted promotions in Singapore. There are imitation bags, clothes and pillows. Crackers and fruit. Do check out the ice-cream man in the middle of the whole scene. He sells ice-cream with top-ups of beans, bread, corn and pearl and it's DELICIOUS! Going back, we didn't have any problem with the...
