This monument, which is super old by US standards, and culturally significant sits atop a hill, making it look even larger. Great views of the town from here. Even if it's not open, it's worth a short stop here.

Hermann the German is located in a small park. The statue rises over the city. there are steps that lead up to a platform for a panoramic view of New Ulm. There are picnic tables to enjoy a family outing.

Quite an Impressive view to look at & climb, but when you get to the top the most Impressive view overlooking the German River Town of New Ulm, Mn. which boasts many attractions itself. It has a picnic park area around it as well....

Stopped too early to get into the monument to walk up. There are numerous plaques with the history available to read. Impressive, glad we stopped.
