Always an amazing place to stop for a stroll around the park, feed the geese or just relax. Wear comfortable and older tennis shoes as all these birds leave behind a lot of waste. The restrooms need a update and good cleaning.

We had some spare time from the Mayo Clinic and decided to walk down to the lake. We saw the electric paddle boats and decided to hire one. We were given next to no information about how to use the motor, which, halfway through the...More

We were looking for a small respite to go to during down time from all of our appointments at Mayo Clinic. We chose Silver Lake because we enjoy the outdoors and it was nearby. This place was horrible! The restrooms are disgusting, and there are...More

Though not in the top-tier of locales to visit in Rochester, this venue is peaceful and you may like to look at the geese.

We like to walk around Silver Lake about once a week when we are home visiting in Rochester, Mn. One lap is a little over a mile. A nice path with wild flowers around the lake . Of course, there are always lots of Canadian...More

It was a great 4th of July day to take out an electric paddle boat on Silver Lake. We peddled and sometimes just let the electric motor move us along. The lake is nice and the views are great. Definitely would do it again!

Although it's been 40 years, my childhood memory of the place was a long drive from Saint Paul with my sister, myself, mom and dad going there with a couple loaves of bread and feeding a crazy populated lake/shore of ducks and recall lots of...More

Nice relaxing park and lake close to clinic. Several block walk if you are up for a good stroll and nice park and scenery. Popular with locals and lost of room. Biking picnicking and shelters. Not crowded lots of birds.

We visited Silver Lake to get some exercise by walking on the trail that goes around the lake. A bonus was being able to see lots of baby geese (goslings.)

There are nice walking trails around the lake. But, I would not list this as one of the 10 best things to do in Rochester.

Yes, they are scheduled to dredge the lake starting this fall. Part of the reason is to improves drainage. A lot of storm runoff goes into this lake and has caused a rise in water level and some flooding.

No cabins. It's not the kind of lake that you vacation on, or fish on. It's more of a side attraction, actually, that you enjoy while you are in Rochester for some other event. Definitely not a lake to build a vacation... More
