Split Rock Lighthouse provided an awesome history lesson about Lake Superior. Make sure to watch the movie in the theatre. It will give you a much better appreciation for the lighthouse. The only reason we didn't give it a rating of five is because we weren't able to tour the actual light house since it is only open May 15-Oct... More

One of the most picturesque sites on Lake Superior, and a must-see for all lighthouse junkies! Some of the buildings will be closed if you arrive before May, or after October, but stop anyway, as the views cannot be beat! A small fee is necessary (~$5), and is money very well spent! My 16 yr old son was even thoroughly... More

This place is so cool and they tell you about how it was built and the work it took to build it and then once was built it took a lot to keep it running. i like the fact that on Nov. 10 ever year they light it up for the ship wreck that happened on Nov. 10 1975 That... More

If you have a problem walking in snow or on ice I would recommend not going in winter. I couldn't get to the vantage point to photograph the lighthouse because of the snow and ice. My problem...don't let it be yours, go during warmer weather.

The Split Rock Lighthouse is a phenomenal and amazing engineering and historical wonder! The location is very picturesque and the historical tours and videos are even more amazing! The entire sight includes the area below the lighthouse right on the lake. Taking time to walk through every foot of the property makes your visit much more memoriable!

The tour guide was fantastic!!! Especially with the smaller kids!! The views were amazing and the kids had a lot of fun. The tour was incredibly informative and went at a good pace. If you're in the area I highly recommend making the stop. It only takes an hour and you can roam at your own pace after.

We had a picnic at the tables along the water, which was a perfect spot. We walked just a short path and were able to see the light house. It was a nice and quiet day!

There are opportunities to take great photos along some trails with the lighthouse as a backdrop. A lot of time can be spent at the park walking the trails and walking along the shore of Lake Superior.

One of the true gems on the north shore. A beautifully preserved and maintained site with breathtaking views. Make every effort to get Pete as your tour guide. He is the best.
