I have been going to Stoney Point since I was a child. I use to take my children there and a few friends with their kids. We would pack a basket of food and have a picnic. This was always a good place to search for agates. No swimming here though. A lot of people will fish off the rocks... More

Stoney Point is a hidden gem. It's basically an outcropping of rocks on Lake Superior. The waves crashing along it's shores is a sight to behold along with the stacked rocks people build on their visits. I enjoy the quiet serenity of this place, but that said, not sure families with young kids would find enjoyment here. Skipping rocks, crashing... More

There is not a more wonderful place to experience the moods of the big lake, from a slight ripple to enormous crashing waves, so don't miss this place!

Driving from Duluth to Gooseberry Falls, I was looking for a couple of stops to break up the drive. I settled on Stoney Point and Betty's Pies. It's right off the scenic highway - blink and you might miss it - you'll exit onto a gravel road and we made our way through a path in the woods out to... More

More of the wonderful landscape along the North Shore of Lake Superior! A great place close to Duluth!

This place is one of my new favorites after moving to Duluth. It is an awesome, free place that is great for families. It isn't well marked, but we typed it into our iPhone maps and got three fine. There's no parking lot, so just park on the side of the dirt road and enjoy playing on massive rocks!

I have visited Stoney Point many times over the years, most recently on June 6. Always beautiful, whether the lake is smooth and serene, or, raging with crashing waves. A wonderful place to escape and enjoy the peacefulness.

I live a mile and one half from Stoney Point, but truly believe it is one of the best spots on the North Shore for a walk. It is quiet and a bit off of the beaten path, but the views are fabulous. The large glacial rocks and their deep crevices ,as well as the beach on the Two Harbors... More
