Beautiful antebellum home and grounds. Although it was damaged by Katrina, most of it has been restored

They have done a FABULOUS job rebuilding this after Hurricane Katrina! In fact, I think it looks better than ever!! It focuses on life of Jefferson Davis AFTER the War Between the States. It has a great way of locating people in the Confederate Cemetery.

The home of the Confederate president, Beauvoir is a gulf coast treasure. It offers remarkable insight into a bygone way of life and has lovely gardens as well as a small animal park.

As a lover of history and one fascinated by the Civil War, my family was not surprised when I asked them to visit this historic site with me. The experience was fantastic. Staff is phenomenal, the grounds are beautiful, and they allow you to walk around independently, which is a big plus for people like me, who love to linger... More

The site is very well Maintained the way it is sit up just like during the civil war, there is also a museum on the property, with a library, also we visited the cemetery on site, and the site of the unknown confederate solider. My daughter even thought it was neat and she's 12 and don't like much.
