Sunday Adventure

Unique Church with local history ties. It is beautifully done. It is a bit echoish and was hard for me to hear but I'd still say go check it out and enjoy a service one Sunday.

The best time to visit the interior is when the church opens the doors before the service or you wait until after the service.

Like a miracle, it is still with us after Katrina. The golden crucifix is "suspended in the air"! And a big "shell" caps the top. Encircled by stained glass windows of saints and fishing/ocean - you can just sit and admire them one-by-one. Compare to only one other chapel that takes your breathe away - Sainte Chapelle in Paris, France

Great location and very nice visit. Glad we took the time to find this beautiful church. Fairly new church since the hurricane.

You have to visit this church. It's like no other. it's built in a circle and mostly stained glass windows depicting fish, saints and the ocean. There are little boats around the altar and screens in the side of the altar depicting green seaweed. The crucifix seems to be suspended in air. Saturday mass is at 5 and Sunday at... More

We were staying at Harrah's Biloxi and St Michael's Church is just a block away. We went for Saturday vigil mass. The Church is small but very modern. It is a church for the mariners, so they do an annual blessing of the boats.I would love to make my next at the time to witness it. Lovely stained glass windows. Sadly,... More

We went to the 5 o'clock Mass on Saturday July 16. The restored church is very beautiful. Read the history. Allow some time to really look around. The stained glass fishing theme & architecture was worth seeing even if you're not Catholic. It's air conditioned too.

To see this place before Katrina, after Katrina, and today is an amazing transformation. The church is beautiful and very unique. It's round - unlike any other. I would definitely make this a stop for mass or just passing by. Hours are limited.
