Probably one of the best kept tourist sights. The Capitol is open to the public free of charge. Even at night sometimes if Legislature is in session. It is a beautiful building and yours are provided. Don't miss the beautiful grounds and replica Liberty Bell.

I stopped one hour and walk around inside and outside this magnificent building. It's definitely worth a visit.

The Mississippi State Capitol is gorgeous! I am taken aback each time I enter the building. As a Mississippian, I am so proud to have the grounds of our capitol building so beautifully manicured and open. Many who are employed at downtown businesses, law firms, and other state buildings use the lunch hour to walk around the capitol, enjoying the... More

Well, some of us think it is a zoo. I refer to it as "The Puzzle Palace" It is worth taking a day of your time to go, visit with your senator or representative, just to let them know you haven't forgotten their promises. They love the attention.. You should also spend some time sitting in the gallery (house and... More

There was plenty of parking, free entry, friendly tour guides and an interesting story. What more do you need?

We were in town so we decided to visit the capitol building. What a pleasant surprise!. entering on the basement level, there are sheets for self guided walking. Each of the four floors have interesting features and activities. Built in the beaux artes style, the interior is beautiful, especially in the chambers. There is also a display explaining how the... This an outstanding capitol building. Amazing architecture and the way they use natural lighting is a highlight. Make sure you try to go on the tour with a guide, learn so much more that way and even get to go places that aren't always accessible to individuals. Our guide was amazing.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The Mississippi legislature was due to convene in the afternoon but the Capital was still fairly quiet before lunch. We had a wonderful guide who knew every answer and was sensitive to my problem with stairs. We have decided to start adding state capital tours to future trips.

I stopped into the capitol and the employee at the visitor booth was extremely informative. She told me many interesting facts about the capitol, gave me a map so I could take a self guided tour, and she also offered me information on various other attractions in the area. The capitol is absolutely beautiful! Definitely worth visiting.
