Great fun but built for kids

This place is so much fun! A lot of variety, lots to learn and very interactive. You can race Cathy Freeman, watch a 3D printer in action and check out a lego replica of... read more

Our last visit was about 7 years ago. Use to live close by and go regularly. Kids (now 10 and 13) were pretty excited to go back. We lasted hour. So busy! A lot of what we remembered had been removed. The big vacuum cleaner, crazy kitchen, big red couch. Change is good but in this case not. A lot... More

This place is so much fun! A lot of variety, lots to learn and very interactive. You can race Cathy Freeman, watch a 3D printer in action and check out a lego replica of Melbourne. The exhibits are varied and are easy to access. The Planetarium is phenomenal and I highly recommend you take in at least one show on... More

Visited with interstate friends midweek but was overwhelmed by schools had trouble with getting to use equipment because of this. The light show was very dissapointing and not worth the extra cost, not sure when the best time to visit would be

Average experience. Pity a few things didn't work. Terrible coffee and food. Restaurant service was below average.

We were told that we MUST visit but having done so we were disappointed. Clearly aimed at 5-10 year olds and more about interactive learning. Difficult to get any time on features with so many school kids and we struggled to fill a couple of hours with our 12 year old to be honest. Electricity show was the best bit... More

A family of 5 (2 adults, 5 year old twins and 3 year old) travelled to scienceworks. My children absolutely loved it! (So did we!) They were so engaged in the exhibitions and could have spent hours in the upstairs 'nitty gritty super city'. We are interstate travellers and I would highly recommend adding this to your itinerary for any... More

Lots to do for children of all ages, although the younger children are probably happier moving through at a faster pace. Lots of interactive hands on displays; some to watch, others to do. The sports area will help to tire the kids out. For younger children the Nitty Gritty Super City (or something like that!) is excellent. One word of... More

Mum organised a visit here and I was impressed seniors kids and students free but very confused by ticketing. Light show booked out. Not appropriate for 3yo anyway so had to leave. Confused by layout Would be good for school age kids esp on rainy day :)
