Never Open when we go!
Jun 2020 • Family
Today my son and I decided to go to the Stars and stripes museum in Bloomfield Missouri. We check the internet and it said that they were open until 4, called and said they were open until 4 on the answering machine, once we got there we got there at 3:30 and the outside of the door said that they were open on Thursdays until 4. and they were not open. I drove an hour to come out there to see the museum and there were two cars outside on the side of the building and nobody was there. No one was open and no one would answer the phone. I was sitting in the parking lot making a phone call at 3:30 and nobody answered the phone. 2 years ago I was out there with two of my kids just like today and they were not open except it was at 2 p.m. on a Thursday very disappointed. Clean on the outside bc that is all I have since both times I have been there. Disappointed on the service.

It gets better and better.

The Stars and Stripes Museum located in Bloomfield, MO has reopened, since being closed for the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak. They have really done some new things to this museum to make it flow better. It is well worth your time to visit, if you are in this area of southeast Missouri. Free admission.

Family visit

My wife was just inducted into the DAR a couple of months ago, after 2.5 years of research, hundreds of pages of documents printed, and finally finding her family patriot, she found this museum. Interesting to note that this town is only 45 miles from her home town. Whi k e in the area to attend her high school reunion, we decided to visit the museum. OUTSTANDING, being an Army veteran, I found it to be a very informative place. I had no idea that the Stars and Stripes newspaper started here. Being from St. Louis and not knowing this was interesting. There were 5 of us and we spent a couple of hours and had a great time. If you love history, are a veteran, and an American, you need to visit this museum. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. The young lady told us about a confederate cemetery close by and we made a visit. We found the grave of my wife's great great uncle. That was worth the trip. Please make a visit, you won't be sorry.

"Stars and stripes forever!"
Nov 2014 • Friends
An interesting museum all about the history of "The Stars and Stripes" newspaper. The many displays are really telling of just what our soldiers went through during this time in our history. No charge to go through a guided tour, (or do a self tour at your own pace). Nominal donations are appreciated, which are used directly back into the upkeep of this museum. There is a memorial wall located to the north end of the building, with park benches to sit and reflect for as long as you wish. This museum is adjacent to a huge military cemetery, which has grounds that are beautifully kept.
