More
This family-owned attraction features the famous outdoor theatre where guests are transported back to the late 1800's and into the lives of the pioneers who settled this rugged area of Southwest Missouri. Based on Harold Bell Wright's bestselling book the show is now in it's 56th season in Branson. The Shepherd of the Hills is a time tested favorite for all ages. During the day there are guided jeep-drawn tours of the historic homestead, Inspiration Tower, the Vigilante Extreme ZipRider (which launches from the TOP of Inspiration Tower!) And Round-Up on the Trail Chuckwagon Dinner Show. It's a whole day of family fun at historic proportions! In November and December Old Matt's Historic Homestead is transformed into a magical Christmas wonderland. The Trail of Lights is an animated, musical drive-thru of lights, sound and motion and is open 7 nights a week. There are millions of twinkling lights and animated displays that celebrate everything from the whimsical to beautiful displays celebrating the true meaning of Christmas. There's also Christmas on the Trail Chuckwagon Dinner Show in the Pavilion Theatre. Favorite holiday carols and a delicious cowboy dinner in a rustic, cozy setting...And your ticket includes a journey through The Trail of Lights after the show. Christmas on the homestead has become a favorite holiday tradition for families. Come enjoy the most wonderful time of the year with us!

We made reservations for a show in late May 2017. Drove the family from Texas to see the show. When we got to Branson we learned they never reopened for the 2017 year. They are still closed. No notification from them.

We have enjoyed the outdoor theater production, trail of lights, and the breathtaking views from Inspiration Tower over the years. But as with many older attractions and venues in Branson, The Shepherd Of The Hills is NOW CLOSED. As announced and confirmed by news media...More

This production was amazing! The amphitheatre is nestled into the hillside, which creates a wonderful atmosphere. Everyone was super friendly and seemed to truly be one big family. They allow people to participate in an old fashioned square dance at intermission, which was great fun....More

The tower sits atop of the hill at shepherd of the hills outdoor theater. You ride a glass elevator ten stories up then you get to walk around the entire glass tower. It is nice if you have not seen Branson the way it used...More

We love holiday lights and have gone to see countless displays. This one is really sad. I would suggest you carefully look at the pictures and understand the entire thing is 80-85% animatronics that are tired and ugly. It may appeal to you but we...More

Christmas Eve dinner show was quite enjoyable. The food was okay (not great), the 8-piece band very enjoyable, and the service very good. Going through the Trail of Lights was crowded and slow, but a nice tour on Christmas Eve.

This was quite possibly the lowest low point of any Christmas experience that any of our party had ever been exposed to. We were mislead by reviews online that spoke of "mystical and exotic Christmas lights of wonder" or numerous excerpts of supposed authentic reviews...More

Our first experience with the Shepherd Of The Hills Trail Of Lights display was in 2013. Our kids, ages 5 and 3 at the time, LOVED it, and so did we! While preparing for our vacation this time around though, I was hesitant based on...More
