This place is worth the drive to get a great view of the river and read about the origins of Cape Girardeau. It's a quick and easy look around. The city needs to attend to the picnic area which was full of trash. Otherwise it's...More

Not much here except a great overlook upon the Mississippi River just north of downtown Cape. From here you will look east across river into the flood plain of southern Illinois and the Shawnee forest. Nice quick spot to stop for photos.

Great overlook of the river. Not much here. But work a quick stop. Not a lot of parking. Don't bring an RV. Not enough room.

Short drive from downtown, well worth the time! The Mississippi River is wide at this point, great access for watching barges & trains!

This park really wasn't worth going to; if you want a pretty view of the river, go to Trail of Tears State Park. When I went to Cape Rock Park, it wasn't well maintained. There was trash everywhere and the flag poles were bare. There...More

This is a pretty park and overlook area of the mighty Mississippi River. (My parents had their first date at "an old rock fountain," that is on the left going up to this viewing area). Keep the kids and pets close, because the road is...More
