We were on our way from Springfield Missouri to Ft Smith Ark when I happened to see the signs directing us there. My husband agreed to go but reminded me we were on a tight schedule so I promised we wouldn't stay long... which sadly we didn't... but once there I remembered going as a child, good memories from that... I spent several days a week in 2016 down along the waters edge catching trout, I have grown fond of tenkara fishing and enjoy the fight the trout put up. If visiting during the open season, going through the week is less crowded, the weekends can be busy. During the winter there are very few visitors and the trout are... More

Always good for a few days of hiking and fishing. Love the fish hatchery and watching the beautiful trout.

I have been coming here since 1953, we lived in Oregon and would come every summer to visit our family here. The best place for a big family reunion, fishing, hiking, feeding the fish, and before the big flood we would rent a paddle boat on the lake there. I now live here and still enjoy coming to the park... More

Fun fishing ( stocked trout) , adequate fish cleaning station, nice park store. Restaurant at the lodge, ok good, not great....service is slow but the views of the Ozark hills very pretty out the windows of the dining room. Campground 2 is my favorite due to close to zone 2 ( catch and release, wading and water play also allowed)... More

My family and I used to come to Roaring River most years in the Spring to trout fish. Mom would otherwise occupy herself and dad and I would fish. I have SO many memories here! Nothing like tagging out first thing in the morning and standing on the bank with hundreds of other folks. Well, my dad passed away and... More

Stopped here for a hike and to enjoy the hatchery. A hidden secret! Hiked over the mountain. Why? To get to the other side!

You can camp out or stay in a comfortable cabin or the very restful Inn. I love this area. There is plenty to keep you entertained. Swimming and hiking through the wonderful Ozark terrain. They grow the trout right there. You can feed the fish in the growing runs. They have education programs to help you understand the area. Just... More

I have traveled to Roaring River State Park for the trout fishing for a number of years. This year, my wife and I stayed at the newly renovated CCC Lodge. The room featured a full kitchen, living room and separate bedroom. We were delighted with the our stay and would recommend this place to others.
