If the weather is nice and you want an outdoorsy get-away, this is a good spot. The camping is basic with electric in the off season. The prices are less, and it is on the honor system with an envelope/pay station at the entrance. Understandably,...More

We enjoyed the lake but need some up keep on camp sites. We were in Loop A and only electric hook ups. The water faucet barely worked, the rest rooms bad and the showers were disgusting!! Maybe somebody needs to check the workers to see...More

The shoreline, even at DESIGNATED BEACHES, is rocky. Wearing shoes is a must. Not what I expected from a beach. I want my feet to NOT hurt when I'm on vacation.

I agree, on of the best kept secrets for a wonderful lake in Missouri. Planning on making this a annual trip for some excellent fishing.

Stockton Lake has several access points that provide good birding opportunities. The deep water attracts Common Loons in autumn and early spring. The many Corps of Engineers properties and Stockton State Park have road systems and campground areas that provide birding access to the lake...More

Looking for a waterfront campsite (tent only) from which we can swim and/or put kayaks in the water (translation: step out of tent, walk 10 paces and be knee-deep in the lake dragging my boat out to deeper water) Also prefer to be far enough away from the next group of campers that we're not participating in each other's conversations. Are the walk-in sites at Stockton State Park the best option or is there somewhere better?
