Petroglyphs, quaint hiking shelters and incredible Ozark overlooks define the Washington State Park experience. Easy access to the Big River makes the park great for swimming or fishing and the park’s three hiking trails address every type of hike, from easy strolls to power hikes. Buildings constructed by African-American Civilian Conservation Corps stonemasons complement the park and add to its sense of history.

Currently at this park camping for the first time. A great spot just an hour south of St Louis. Many great sites backing to woods, clean bathrooms, paved pad with good gravel pads for the picnic table and fire pit. Float from upstream the parks lodge and take out beach. River flow 1 mph at level. Rentals available. They have... More

There are several trails we hit there for weekly hikes. Enjoy being outside! Look forward to Sunday afternoon hikes with daughter and friends!

Camp, swim, fish and hike. What's not to like. Most beautiful in the fall with all the trees turning. Just gorgeous! Camp ground is great and close to the pool. Or you can tent camp further away from the action. Lots of hiking trails and a fabulous lookout. Be careful there it's a big drop. Also do the 1000 steps... More

I haven't been to this pool since my Grandma brought my cousin and I in the 70's! It was every bit as much fun as I remembered it! I brought 4 kids, on my own, ages 4, 7, 7 and 10. Maybe it's that I had good kids but they were a breeze to handle by myself and not once... More

We went here as part of our family vacation (2 adults and 2 teens). We stayed in one of the cabins (#7). The accommodations at the cabins are a bit rustic, but you have electricity, running water and a full kitchen. I think it's a bit expensive given the accommodations. The pool was nice to spend time at during the... More

Beautiful park. Took our 7 and 10 year olds for an afternoon of hiking and a BBQ dinner. We were slightly disappointed 1000 steps trail was closed (I assume due to flooding) but were happily surprised to see that the opossum trail was just the right length for our kids (took us about 1hr 45mins with a couple outlook/water stops).... We stayed in one of the cabins in the park. It is about the same price as a hotel. It was great. It was so quiet it almost made your ears hurt.
