Great beach option close to town
This was a lovely and calmer beach option compared to the main Sayulita beach. The bottom is sandy, and there is minimal slope. 2 chairs and an umbrella are 300 pesos for the day. There is food and drink service, and we had what may have been the world's finest fish tacos there. It is a short walk from the plaza. Bring coins for the bathroom, and cash.

    Nice, Relaxing Beach
This is a lovely little beach within walking distance of Sayulita central. The walk is not strenuous and is actually quite pleasant. The beach itself is beautiful with clear water. We went on a Friday and it was not overly crowded.

    Nice little beach
This is a pretty beach, and much less crowded than the main beach in Sayulita (though not as deserted as other reviews led me to believe). There are a few food vendors walking around selling things like oysters, doughnuts, and shrimp skewers. There is also a small kitchen to order from. I did not use the washrooms there, but my partner did, and he said they were "pretty bad". There are chairs and umbrellas on the beach that you must pay to use (250 pesos for the day, I think it was). We only planned to stay an hour or so, so we negotiated a price of 100 pesos. Some very nice rocks at either side of the beach adding to the scenery. We did not go in the water but many people there were in the ocean and enjoying. Waves were a bit smaller than at the main beach in Sayulita. The graveyard at the entrance of the beach was interesting to explore too. A fun little excursion.

    Beach with lots of vendors
Clean beach with lots of vendors to get snacks, drinks, chair or umbrellas. My kids loved the calm water and the sand was perfect. The locals who live in the area live off of tourism so negotiate a deal as some will overcharge you.

    Nice Family Beach
Nice beach- a little more mellow than main beach. Good swimming for families. Was kind of busy when we were there (unlike some of the deserted photos posted), but maybe on weekdays & slow season is quieter.

Playa los Muertos is much nicer than Sayulita beach. Not many people go there (mostly parents and younger children) so it is much quieter. The waves aren’t as strong and the sand is finer. You can rent chairs from the restaurants but there’s lots of shade if you don’t want to spend money. Best of all, there are very few hawkers.

Our favourite beach in Sayulita! This beach is much quieter than the main beach, and the waves were perfect for boogie boarding and swimming! No rocks or coral, so it was easy for the kids to float, swim & play in the waves.
Some tips:
-take a golf cart here if you have one (and they may charge you 10$ a day to park it. We were able to bargain for 80 pesos)
-lots of vendors, but they are all friendly. We ordered beers (40 pesos) & pops for the kids, you can buy bracelets, get hair braided etc etc.
-you can rent chairs and tables, umbrellas, loungers for the day if you want. So you can just walk down with a towel and some cash, and you’re set up for the day!

One day the waves were quite big, so if it’s windy, prepare for that (every beach was like this that day).

Truly paradise! We came to this beach three times and had a blast each time!

The sand is mesmerizing, with golden flakes within the grains, as the waves retrieve, the sight of the sands retrieving is just beautiful. The waves are manageable and the sand feels like walking on a pillow. The time I was there, May 2021 the water was clear. The rental of chairs at that point are cheaper than farther down, closer to the center of town.

Beach in Sayulita and located in a much nicer cove However, keep in mind, there is a gang that operates the beach and charges $100 for parking cars or golf carts,$10 pesos to
Use the bathroom when originally said $5 pesos and once at the door they said they maid a mistake and it was $10 to use dirty unkept bathroom. $400 for umbrella and 3 lounge chairs and umbrella. Make sure to pay upfront. They originally said $300 pesos and then charged $400. We told them it wasn’t the agreement and then became aggressive towards us. Will never go here again as we felt threatened from this gang. To bad Mexico has these kind of people harassing tourist who support the Mexican economy.

There are a lot of sellers as well who will offer you stuff every 30 seconds.

I say we charge Mexican tourist to use bathrooms in countries they visit since Mexico seems to be the only place I have visited that charges to use a bathroom.

Go to this beach for a swim….. easier waters to navigate, rocks to explore, easy snorkel, available beach chairs and umbrellas (200 pesos/chair). Lots of vendors but not as many as main south beach. Cemetery close by “Beach of the Dead”. Take your own cooler with beer to save money. Easy to get to with Golf Cart.

The bay of Sayulita can easily be walked from end to end. The North end is open uncrowded beach, The south end, you walk through the forest of umbrellas, past surfers, vendors, and bathing beauties. You pass the upscale condos and housing, along a path with great views of the entire Sayulita, and arrive at a dirt road. The road runs up the side of a condo under construction, under a cement arch decorated wtih the Muertos figures, up a small hill, and into the Cemetery de los Muertos. The decorated crypts and grave markers are facinating, Just down the hill, you come to Playa Los Muertos. It is a very pleasant cresent of a beach, with a lifeguard, and ropes and buoys. It was fairly calm when I was there, but I can see that the beach has the potential of fairly potent water conditions, undertows, rip tides, and big waves, so I urge caution is swimming. The cove is fairly isolated but has great views of the Sayulita point and of the bay. Nice little walk and great cove

I recommend this beach if you want to stay away from the crowded Sayulita beach. If you drive or take a golf cart you have to pay for parking. You also have to pay to use the bathroom which I will warn you, they are not the best. You will walk thorough a cemetery which is kinda interesting.

BEWARE SCAMMERS: visited this beach and parked a motorcycle outside. After being at the beach all day and trying to leave, some lady comes out of the wood works demanding money for parking. This is despite no sign or anything. She then became physically assualtive.

A quiet beach, clean in general, although we also had it after a day of heavy rain and it brought a lot of tree debris, but not garbage in the strict sense. The beach is very soft sand, with little depth. They rent two lounge chairs for free time for $300.00, very friendly. Samantha was very attentive to us.

We thought this was the "quiet" beach in Sayulita. It is, until about 11:00 am when all the tourists arrive. It is a smaller, pretty beach and swimmable, but with rental chairs and alcohol service it quickly becomes loud and crowded. It would be better if that type of "beach experience" stayed on the main beach and this place was for people with beach towels and blankets.
