One of the last stops on the way back from tasting around the Tamar Valley up north. One of the best we visited. Not only is it one of the nicest settings but the tasting was well managed. It felt a bit too professional - a few steps removed from the wine making family. The wines on the whole were... More

We loved this winery. The service was excellent and the wines were delicious. We especially loved the Rieslings and the Gerwurtztraminer. The explanation of the wine philosophy was terrific and there was food. We had a lovely charcuterie plate with our wine tasting which was sorely needed by the time we visited. We also thought the setting was beautiful.

My husband and I were feeling a bit chilly and tired after our hike on Mt. Field, so we treated ourselves to some tastings at near-Hobart. Ben, the outgoing, knowledgeable Kiwi drummer, was a great guide to Pooley's spread of delicious wines. We also ordered the cheese tray of local cheeses (excellent as well) We were knocked out by the... More

We stopped at Pooley winery at Richmond for a tasting and as it was about lunch time we stayed for lunch. It was a week day so the wood fired pizza wasn’t on so we had a very nice little platter and some even nicer wine.

Went in today for a tasting here and the service was fantastic but most of all the guys doing the tasting were amazing with describing about the wines and also the winery. Learnt a lot along with tasting some fantastic wines. Make sure to visit this winery as it is a must when in Tasmania!!

The place to visit on a Sunday for a relaxed lunch with wine tasting and delicious pizzas cooked in the outdoor pizza oven by Kane and his staff. The lawned and alfrescoe areas overlooking beautiful countryside make this venue very special. Not to mention the amazing heritage home adjoining the cellar area. Wines are excellent and becoming a wine club... More

We went in for wine tasting, and has Ben (who was working his SECOND day) and out of the probably 50 wine tastings I've ever done; was the best. I am a backpacker, so normally get treated like I want free booze (I wouldn't say no but however...) he treats everyone like they have millions in the bank. Good wine,... More

Loved our Sunday drive from Hobart to Richmond and visiting Pooley wines. Our tasting was very informative and fun with museum wines also available to purchase. Pizzas were great ( especially the mushroom, fetta and truffle) went especially well with the Pinot by the glass!

We visited Pooley Wines after having tasted one their wines whilst eating at Farmhouse King X in Sydney. We are so glad we did from the time we were presented our first tasting by Kit ( an amazing knowledgeable man with a passion for his product) we were simply astounded by the quality of these wines . We left with... More

We did a premium wine tasting and Shane did an excellent job of walking us thru the lovely wines and history of the vineyard. We carried away a half case of both Pooley Riesling and Butcher's Hill Pinot Noir to keep us company on our driving tour of Tasmania.

Hello again Martha! It is great to hear from you and indeed to receive the lovely feedback - so thank you very much. We are fans of the Riesling and Butcher's Hill Pinot too... of course, so know that you will thoroughly enjoy these fabulous wines over the years to come. Or sooner!! Best wishes on behalf of the cellar... More
