This little jewel of a museum/meeting place is worth your visit a couple times a year at least.....as the exhibits change and are varied enough to satisfy most artistic tastes. I exhibited a few of my photographs of the tragic May 2011 EF-5 tornado and was amazed at some of the other photos other exhibitors had turned in.....for the variety,... More

This is a great place to go see some wonderful art. It is a small museum but has rotating exhibits so you can go back again and again.

There is no admission fee. They do have a discreet box that allows for donations but doesn't put anyone on the spot. Wonderful place to visit whether you're a local or just passing through. What I've read indicates they do change out the art displays so if I get an opportunity I will be back to see what's next here.... More

There are always interesting exhibits and shows at the Spiva Gallery. This trip we saw an exhibit of miniature paintings as well as another completely different more modern art exhibit!. I appreciate the wide range of talent and taste that the Spiva embraces. The gift shop almost always provides me with a new treasure or greeting card. Definitely worth a... More

Though it is not like the Met in NY or any big city musuem, it is a fun place to take to family. Somethings might not be for small children But looking for a fun day of good fun....I would go.

This art center is an incredible place for the whole family. There are always new and interesting exhibits (3 galleries!), tons of classes for kids and adults, and always fun programs to attend. Members get awesome perks, and membership is really cheap. My favorite perks are the membership shows to display my art, and the opening receptions. You're missing out... More

I am friends with a family that has moved to Joplin and have taken the boys on a couple of outings around town to pick up literature for the family and show the boys some of the things they might not easily discover. The gentleman who arranges for the exhibits gave us a "teaser" for the upcoming exhibit. An artist... More

With ever-changing exhibits, the Spiva selects from only the best and most thoughtful of local and regional artists. Within the confines of this downtown facility are four primary exhibit rooms with each exhibit attractively displayed and accompanied by helpful and informative descriptions of each piece of art. It is a FREE museum, surprisingly, and well worth taking 30 minutes out... More
