On a "day off" from touring colleges Decided to check the museum out. Experienced a short informative guided tour, viewed a movie about the excavation of the steamboat, had an interactive Q&A w/an actual family member of those who were involved in the excavation process & then viewed the 100's of well preserved items discovered from the the steamboat. It... More

It is in a weird location in town which is hard to get to and the Riverwalk area around it is not worth going to.

The museum was very interesting. There is a movie and a guided tour. Takes about a 1 1/2 to do. I found that the museum is a little repetitive But it nicely arranged go before lunch then you can eat at the many restaurants around the museum

This is a very unique look back at the history of the Missouri river and American history. The artifacts have been preserved impeccably and give a time travel effect as you are given the opportunity to see how life was lived.

So interesting! No one thinks about the changing courses of rivers or what lies beneath where they once were. Well a couple of enterprising men did, and found the Steamboat Arabia. The film with commentary is certainly worth watching. Amazing that so many items were found and in such good shape!

The Arabia Museum and what it represents was a great experience. The number and quality of items in this museum was incredible. A steamship sank in the Mississippi River not far from my great great grandfather's home and I have always had an interest in steamships that become buried after the river changes course. The finding of the Steamship Arabia,... More

Who doesn't like to think about finding hidden treasure? The families that discovered the Steamboat Arabia in the middle of a corn field have quite a story to tell, and they do it well. The history loving friends not only found the steamboat, but were able to salvage tons (literally) of merchandise that was bound to the newly opened western... More
