Overview
More
The Norfolk Island Museum reveals to you Norfolk's amazing and multi-layered stories. Famous for its colourful history, the island was first settled by Polynesians, then in 1788 by the British who later made it a convict hellhole. Since 1856 it has been home to the descendants of the Bounty mutineers. Located in a number of heritage buildings in Kingston, our museums and research centre help you explore our turbulent past as well as today's living culture.

No 10 as the name suggests is one of a number of convict-built homes along a street in the historic Kingston area. Whilst I didn't go inside it is well worth a walk along this street to view the homes, and it leads to the...More

This lovingly restored house has some wonderful period pieces, and the largest collection of crockery of the era, found in the privy and glued back into shape. Fascinating and of all the museums this was my favourite as you experienced what life must have been...More

A look at life gone by, very small homes two centuries ago, basic but workable and enjoyable to look through.

A volunteer meets you with an explanation of the old house - rooms - etc. Well worth the visit and the volunteer knew her history.
