While the Dam is impressive in what it does, it’s not too impressive to visit. Even the overlook is straight on so you don’t get to see the full side. You can drive over it, but there are no tours in it.

We enjoyed walked through the strip on the other side of the dam. The dam itself is fairly massive, but not a lot to do AT the dam itself.

Driving across the dam is interesting but I was freaking out the whole time because the bridge is narrow and people were walking across it on a very narrow walkway inches from driving cars. I don't think that is safe at all. One huge gust...More

Fun times to be had in this area. Boating is nice and plenty of other entertainment. Lots of great restaurants to enjoy.

While the dam may be the main focal point, it's the area surrounding the dam that is really happening. Shops, restaurants and more line the road leading to the dam. It's cool to drive across, once on the other side their are scenic overlooks just...More

My family visited the Dam and were so impressed. To think this was built and opened in 1931 is an engineering feat. The Osage river was dammed and created the Lake of the Ozarks. Thousands of tourists visit here annually and have no idea that...More

What is it about a dam? They are just interesting places to visit. The Bagnell Dam at the Lake of the Ozarks is quaint, and the lake is so beautiful. Definitely worth the drive if you are in the area.

Bagnell dam top is a two lane dam roadway. Below the dam is campground. I would say no. Two lane roadway with no shoulder and gravel road campground. But check with Osage beach city hall for other access.

They no longer offer guided tours. You can only access the outer portion of the dam on the east and the musuem on the west side of the road.
