This is one of the best zoos in country and best of all is free! Anyone of any age will enjoy it. Just as fun to visit as an adult as for a child. Fun interactive exhibits and shows!

Many St Louis attractions feature light exhibitions during the holidays. The zoo's exhibit is over the top.

Toddlers would love this themed zoo, and the variety of animals is intriguing from elephants and painted dogs to seals and birds. There is so much to explore, and the walkways lead to caves, rain forests, and savannahs.

We went for the Christmas lights and it was amazing! The amount of work and details is fantastic! So many photo ops and displays turns anyone into a kid again!

The St. Louis zoo is fun, exciting and free!! One of the last free zoos in the country, and it is one of the best! The natural habitats for the animals are so inviting to visit! We were there in December and were able to stay for the Christmas lights. It was worth that alone! The whole family had fun.... More

Where do I begin? At the Gorilla House, the Penquins, the birds, the atmosphere. This is a great zoo and stays open all year, except Christmas Day. You can pay to ride the train. You can pay to go in to the Petting Zoo. You can buy food. OR, you can go enjoy the attractions available at no cost to... More

We had a lovely day at the St Louis zoo. The animals were active and the day was beautiful. There were very few visitors and largely we had the zoo to ourselves. The staff was very kind and helpful. We would definitely return. We did not stay for the lights.

The zoo is the biggest reason we drove 7 hours from Oklahoma. Absolutely worth it!! No question it's the best zoo I've ever seen. Highly recommend the penguin, polar bear and hippo exhibits. They herpetarium was amazing as well. We'll be back!
