That is their claim and I think they might be close to the mark ? For starters it is Free , the only extras are train rides, 4-D theatre, sea lion show etc. The free stuff is more then enough to slate any appetite ! Some enclosures were a bit on the small side and I watched the Amur Tiger... More

This is a world class zoo in the middle of fantastic Forest Park. It is free to all visitors but of course cost a lot on your property taxes if you live in St Louis County.

The STL zoo is great. We had a great time and the staff were all very friendly. The animal enclosures were large and looked very natural

Visiting the St. Louis zoo always brings back memories. My father was the quintessential Scrooge, not wanting to part with a dime. However, the zoo is free. How fortunate for us. I will not forget our childhood memories at the zoo. I have been to a lot of other zoos, since I have grown. But, the St. Louis zoo will... More

We attended the zoo lights at night only - so I cannot review the animals and the rest of the zoo during a daytime visit. However, the zoo lights were perfect for a night out and to experience the winter season with music and timed lights. I highly recommend getting the marshmellows by the fire with a warm drink! We... We go here all times of the year! Winter is one of the best (Zoo lights, but also Penguin Walk which is a life memory for the little kids, and active animals), but fall is good too. River's edge is a favorite that combines the big classics (elephants, hippos, rhinos, hyenas, etc.) with fish (including a giant Mississippi River tank,... More

A trip with the family...or a solo stroll around the grounds...the best place in St. Louis to visit for a day or two.

A great time to spen the day with children. But make sure you have the time as it will most of the day to see the park. Try to get there early because parking can be a challenge. You can bring a bag with food and drinks. Or you can buy food that's a bit pricey

My family and I love to go to the St. Louis zoo! We meet there at least 6 times a year to enjoy the animals and atmosphere. Our favorite is the new polar bear exhibit, its so fun to watch him play and swim!
