Best Zoo. Period. Visited Denver's zoo and others and find nothing that compares to St. Louis Zoo. Free. Beautiful. Train is a blast. Young and old delight in the sights and sounds. Food ain't bad either. It is a perfect day out for anyone.

Amazing zoo with several trails guiding visitors through the animals seeing. The subaquatic tunnel was a high point. If there was a manual to guide visitors on the best time to see certain animals, it would be perfect (I couldn't see the lion).

I don't really like zoos but went anyway. It was clean, the animals seem to be happy, all the felines were hidden because the heat of the sun. The bird cage is nice.
