The new Civil War Museum does an excellent job of explaining Jefferson Barracks. There are also other museums on the grounds that are good, but I'd go to the Civil War Museum to get an overview of the Jefferson Barracks Historic Park.

My father is buried at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery. It is very peaceful and beautifully kept up. The museum is very interesting. They have some very good classes that I've signed my classes up for. They let the students churn butter in the Colonial class. In the spy class, they make code wheel. They get to dress up in historic war... More

My father, several cousins and a brother are buried in the cemetery there. The grounds are immaculate. The museum is small, but w/c accessible.

My Grandfather was buried at the Cemetery in March and unfortunately we were unable to attend his burial service because we were from out of town and could not accommodate the date given to us that my Grandfather was buried. As a result my husband and I visited to see where my grandfather was buried and ended up staying for... More

Missouri was torn by the Civil War at the same time its citizens were divided among themselves. The Museum at Jefferson Barracks tries to describe the division without taking sides. The history of this Army base/fort prior and after the Civil War is amazing!

We visited this park after touring the Civil War Museum. There are plenty of picnic tables spread throughout the park and lots of people were running, biking and playing frisbee golf. We had a picnic lunch and then went geocaching in the park. We saw lots of deer in the trees. The cemetery is huge. The grave locator was easy... More

My husband and I visited here in the summer of 2015. The museum is fairly small but well-organized and scooter-accessible. There aren't many Civil War Battlefield, etc. to visit in this area, so we're fortunate to have this one nearby. I'm planning on returning next fall with my American History Class.

This in a truly wonderful place to visit overlooking the Mississippi River. The National Cemetery portion is set on gentle rolling hills, and it is a must see when visiting the park. The park offers much to the visitor. There are biking and hiking trails. Picnic areas and a visitors center are featured. There are several museums to visit as... More

I've been coming to Jefferson Barracks for as long as I can remember. From back in the 80s having hours of fun playing with my sister in the park to visiting family at the cemetery. I haven't been for several years and have moved to the next state, but recently I came back here to visit and not much has... More
