We spent and afternoon walking through the streets. We made candles, visited book shops, had a nice lunch and dessert. Multiple shops and restaurants.

I'm a regular at the Chess Club and Scholastic Center so I'm always in this part of town. I also get tons of complements on my glasses that I purchased at Eye Roc Eyewear that's also located on Maryland. Everything is walkable on Maryland and...More

Lots of small shops, cafes, and restaurants in this district, including the World Chess Hall of Fame. It is easy to walk, the parking is sometimes a bit of a challenge, but only because some of the parking spaces are not immediately obvious.

Great part of the city. Historic buildings, good restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Great place to explore on a sunny day. Considered the Gay Neighborhood but not super obvious like NYC or San Francisco.

Nice hangout for afternoons eating outside in nice weather or for nightlife in the evenings. An occasional incident outside with crime as it is closer to the city. Recommend traveling in Groups. of 2 or more.

Wonderful old architecturally pleasing homes with many terrific local restaurants and some shops. Bounded by Barnes-Jewish hospital and Forest Park. Has a different feel than many other St. Louis neighborhoods. Could come here for every meal in a visit and find a different good option...More

The Christmas decorations on the turn of the century homes were charming as were at a few of the retail businesses. A short walk away from the Euclid Avenue crowds and through residential streets, it is a wonderful place for an after dinner stroll. Food...More
