Full disclosure: I work here. But, I highly recommend visiting Saint John's. Founded in 1854, it's the first Czech Catholic church outside the Czech Republic. Listed on the National Register of Historic Place, it's an architectural gem. Masses are on Saturday at 4:30 and Sunday at 9:30. There is lots of history for the early Bohemian community in this location. The church was their center and the Soulard neighborhood contained many of their rental units. We went to mass there as it was close to where we were going to dinner. Am so glad we decided to attend. The church reminded us of when we visit Churches in Europe. The stain glass windows and statues were beautiful and so well taken care of. We even got to visit with the priest after the service. So... More
