I never thought a library would be a destination just to look at..... love them for books - but never visited one just to see the structure. This one is worth stopping in just to see the structure.... Pretty amazing building with a fascinating legacy...More

This is by far St. Louis most precious gem! The library offers tours on Saturdays at various time (with the last one being at 1pm, I believe) and it is such a treat! take your children to the children's section---a marvel! This building is over...More

The Central Public Library in St. Louis is a gorgeous building. It was renovated in the early 2000's, but was built in the early 1900's. The architecture is amazing! The painting on the ceilings, marble stair cases, stained glass windows, and light fixtures are beautiful....More

I attended story time with grandchildren. It was well attended and lots of fun for all. Grandson loves the interactive computer section, in particular.

This library was recently renovated but I think a lot of it was the section that they added on. However, the older part is the dazzle in this building. Lots of woodwork and mosaic work through out the building. A lovely place to come study...More

Recently went on a tour of the library. I was with a walking group but individuals can also arrange for a tour of the facility. With the docent, you got lots of facts and information - it was very interesting.

We had some time before a wedding on a recent Saturday and we were within walking distance. What a special building. We had a very nice tour guide and enjoyed both the temporary exhibition in the main hall and the beautifully detailed restoration of the...More
