A friend lives in Lafayette Square and every time I visited I could see myself living there. Beautiful Victorian houses, historic park, cool bars and restaurants, strong community and great neighbors... what's not to like! This is a place I want to live and it looks like it is actually going to happen. Great place to spend a Saturday or... More

Some of the best restaurants and B&B's in St. Louis. Small walkable neighborhood.Large park designed by NYC's Central Park guru planner offers nights of free outdoor music and/or old movies...you will see audience members with buckets of chicken and camp stools next to safari pop up tables covered with linens and fine china...all age groups attend. One of the must see locations of St. Louis boasting the oldest walking park west of the Mississippi River. The residential architecture is one of the best in town. The "painted lady" homes are beautiful. great neighborhood to stroll through. Great restaurants, wine/chocolate bar and coffee shops, as well as great bed and breakfasts locations.

This is one of the largest collections of Victorian homes in the nation, top restaurants, beautiful park and nice walk-around area. You will not be disappointed, also look up when they have their house tours, those are awesome.

This is an inner city park, but it is large enough to play many hide-and-seek type games. There is a playground (in the direct sun during summer mornings), a number of statues, beautiful trees and plantings. Best of all, there is a pond with many ducks , geese and lovely white swans! Bring lots of stale bread; they all want... More

A beautiful and peaceful park to have some down time. What a bonus for the neighborhood and a pleasant reminder of what life was like in the early 20th Century.

This is a beautiful park surrounded by lovely restored Victorian homes and a wrought iron fence. The park holds a fair amount of events during the year; vintage craft shows, bands, outdoor movies, and the upcoming Strange Folk Fest. There's plenty of food options near the park as well.

We stumbled upon this location on our way to find great ice cream one rainy Saturday afternoon while staying in the St. Louis area to spend time with family. Just driving through this area is worth the trip to see these old elaborate homes. Imagine the house from stage movie Meet Me in St. Louis or the family home of... More

A beautiful small park surrounded by superb Victorian 'Painted Lady' houses, worthy of the best parts of Paris or London. We stayed in a B&B in the Square and always felt perfectly safe and there are some excellent eateries within easy walking distance.
