Make sure you are early for your tour as we walked in at 2:01 for our two o'clock tour and our guide was nearly locking up. Luckily we caught him as it was a great afternoon! Not only did our group learn quite a bit about the history of Butte, but I felt like we made the tour guides day... More

While on our vacation, one of many stops was in Butte, Montana to go through the Historic Homes district. My husband has difficulty walking, but we were able to drive the streets and see the magnificent homes of old. We enjoyed the different styles and the old beauty of the homes and buildings.

The tour starts off slowly with a 15 minute sit down lecture about the history of Butte. It's quite interesting if you like geology. However, the best part of the tour is to go underground to see gems such as a barbers shop, jail and speakeasy. Butte's growth was complicated and as the city developed, roads and sidewalks were raised... More

We have visited Butte many times over the past decade or so, and always find something new to see. This time we wanted to see some of the hidden gems underground. Evidently decades ago areas of the city were abandoned, and forgotten over time. More recently, they were rediscovered, and are now part of the underground tour. The old barber... More

Normally I'm not the type to spend money on something of this nature. It was well worth the price! Don't think people can get that much bang for the buck as this tour provided. The guy was really into Butte's history and his enthusiasm and knowledge was incredible. Will bring friends next time we're in the area as this far... More

Me and part of my family took the underground tour while my dad and brother were busy hunting, very cool to see how the city of Butte used to operate. The tour guide was very knowledgable and we had a wonderful time.

Absolutely amazing tour. We toured with Bob and he was a wonderful guide! Bob was a host of historical information, numerous tidbits and humor. We have been to Butte various times over the past 25 years and NEVER imagined what was literally right under our noses! The barber shop brought you to the days gone by. You'll learn to look... More

Perhaps you wondered what Howard Carter must have felt as he opened the tomb of Tuntankhamun? Go with the Old Butte Historical Adventures to Tony’s Tin Shop. Immediately the door opens it is the same: chaotic. Half finished pots and pans, old toys, tools, light bulbs that made Edison proud, a tin ceiling. This may not be Pharaoh’s tomb but... More
