The first museum dedicated to Western art, the C.M. Russell Museum houses Charles Marion Russell's original studio, the home where he lived, and many paintings and bronzes created by Russell and his contemporaries. It also includes a compelling exhibition of Browning Firearms, featuring information on John Moses Browning (1855-1926), one of the world's most important and innovative gun makers.

If you have an interest in Western Art then this is the place for you. Wall to wall exhibits with artifacts, Paintings, sketches, and even a Buffalo Room where you can experience the stampeding of the rumble room. There's even a house on site where the famous Artist, Charles M Russell, lived. Definitely worth a walk through at least twice... More

What we could see was interesting, however due to the auction over a week ago - many of the rooms were closed. A pity we traveled a long way specifically to visit this museum

Thank you for your feedback. We are working hard to install the galleries after The Russell, our signature fundraiser. The entire museum will be installed by May 20, 2017, the official opening day for all summer exhibitions. We have lowered the cost of admission to $2, knowing most of the galleries are not installed. We hope you can visit again... More

We enjoyed visiting the Charles Russell museum. They had some of the museum roped off from display so we were happy that it was free to get in (Pepsi sponsored the free admission). I was happy they had a table of literature for travelers. We were a bit disappointed in the studio as we thought it would have reflected what... More

We enjoyed all the history , art pieces, and gun show there. Evryone was very helpfull. Charlie Russell was a outstanding artist for many western art pieces. My grampa borked on a ranch in late 1800 on a ranch hand jobb 'I've been told. The sculpures are amazing.

We enjoyed an enlightening visit to the C.M. Russell Museum. The museum is very interesting and includes Russell's actual studio, his art, history & another section dedicated to other western artists.

My husband and I took advantage of the preview exhibition for the Russell Auction here in Great Falls March 16- 19th. This is an amazing weekend of Western Art. This is a gem right in the heart of Great Falls and we welcome guests from around the world for the event.

Grandad was a horse trader and wheat rancher in Great Falls and had an original C.M. Russell hanging in his house. He would take us to the museum and we would get to explore on our own...and pick out a print of our very own. This is a very well maintained property, including his old studio, and well worth the... This is a nice area for viewing and seeing nice art pictures and bronzes. Charlie Russell cottage is a very fine display of early 1900s artifacts and furnishings. Lots of Great Falls history to view.
