Last Chance Gulch holds a lot of History. Be sure & check out all the historical signs along the way. If you are a history buff this is a gold mine. If your not into history there is a lot of cute shops to check out. Montana made items, pottery etc. Great place to visit.

Last Chance Gulch is *trying*. There is an increasing number of new and unique shops and restaurants but it seems like they come and go rather quickly. Last Chance Gulch is rich with history and can be fun to visit during the summer months. It's really a charming area that has so much potential. But it is like a ghost... More

Many people do not realize that Last Chance Gulch is named for the Gold Rush days, when there was one last chance to find gold before the miners quit in anguish. As it happened, they did find the gold, and the name has stayed, and the street which is now a walking mall has so many places to visit and... More

This is a quaint spot to visit when in Helena. Downtown restaurants and shops, river built into the sidewalks to follow, a waterfall and some statues of bears to pose next to. We also enjoyed the musical garden.

My family and I had a few hours to spare and decided to walk up and down Last Chance Gulch. It was a beautiful walk with some fun shops to visit. Wish there were a few more shops, however.

As I hadn't visited Helena in many years, Last Chance Gulch was high on the list of attractions to visit. What was once a main street has become a beautiful walking mall, lined with interesting shops and apartments. It ends at the library and a nice park, making it appropriate for individuals or families. There were also a number of... More

We had an hour or so to kill in Helena before leaving town for Choteau, so we headed to the Last Chance Gulch area of town to have a walk and check out the shops. Our first stop was was at Barnes Jewelry, outside of which sits Helena's old penny machine. We got our pennies and checked out the shop... More
