It's hard to imagine such a beautiful place and so well kept with so little staff. They were wonderful, helpful, friendly and made our visit Grand. I'm not sure, are there additional words for customer service? Because they nailed it. Their volunteers, more than helpful...More

We really do have to hand it to Montana and their stunning state parks. Each one has something special to offer and Traveler's Rest was no exception. Our focus was primarily on the outside grounds and site of Lewis and Clark's confirmed campsite, but there...More

So glad you were able to visit on one of Jack's days in the Park. We agree that he is a national treasure!

We had a very interesting tour of Travelers' Rest with a ranger from the Montana Fish and Wildlife Department, who pointed out the areas where archeological verifications of the Corps were found, including a latrine. The area is believed to be similar to the way...More

At first sight I was a little disappointed, but then realized that Travelers’ Rest is a State Park, and not a Federal site. Travelers’ Rest is an archaeologically authenticated Lewis & Clark campsite, though only two pieces of this evidence are on exhibit: a tiny,...More

I grew up in an historic hamlet in NY, where folks liked to joke "George Washington slept here," since he had used a home in our town as headquarters on several occasions during the Revolutionary War. So, arriving at Traveler's Rest, where Meriwether Lewis and...More

We visited on a Sunday and for a while were they only visitors. The volunteers were enthusiastic to share their vast knowledge of the Lewis and Clark Expedition and the wildlife (mostly birds) we observed on the self-guided path. The museum showcased many interesting replicated...More

Well worth the stop, and a great spot to get your snowmobile non ethanol premium fuels. The atmosphere is great and everyone is friendly.

This was the third time I visited this park. It has great unrealized potential. The recent changes in the visitor center were disappointing, it's not as informative as it once was.More

The staff and volunteers at Travelers' Rest work hard to make sure that every visitor has a great experience at the Park. Recent changes to the Visitors Center reflect our focus on the three main stories of this place: the natural history of the area,...More

This is an important site. When walking the site, it lack the feeling of how important it is. More displays are needed.to give the feeling of just how important this is. Not in character of how Montana really values its history.
