You will be hard pressed to find a more spectacular route than Highwa 12. We loved our trip along this stretch and took in curve after curve of beautiful, winding road. There is a lot of history along the highway, as well, though the story of the indians who came before is poorly told. Be sure to stop at the... More

We took a 2 week trip to Colorado, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho via motorcycles. This was the most amazing road we were on. Such beautiful scenery! Nice sweeping curves and the pavement was smooth. Definitely want to ride it again and again!

Without a doubt this is one of the most beautiful drives I've taken. We started at Lolo, MT and finished up in Kamiah, ID. My husband loves to fish so we stopped many times for him to do so while I sat in the sun and marveled at the rushing Lochsa river below me. The scenery changed near Lowell as... More

Beautiful drive, trees and rivers, streams. October and after, through May, be cautious of road conditions. They can change in a matter of hours.... The drive is very picturesque.....

Very senic highway from Lolo, MT to Kooskia, ID. Travels alongside the Lochsa River. The landscape is spectacular. You will be traveling in the mountains There are numerous hiking trails starting from Highway 12 leading off into the mountains.

Hwy 12 through Montana has the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen. The rock formations, the beauty of the mountains are breathtaking to my eye. We rode a motorcycle over this road and was not disappointed. If you have a chance to take this route, please do!!

I agree with the full tank of gas and if you stay at the Lochsa lodge you don't have cell reception which is awesome !!!! Very peaceful place. used to have cabins that were very old and seven dollars a night years back lots of great memories . Cabins are newer and nice at a fair price definitely worth the... More

This is a scenic highway, really beautiful. Make sure you have a full tank of gas and full stomach before starting because there are very few options on the way. We stopped at the Lochsa Lodge for lunch and there was a small gas station.

Beautiful ride along Hwy 12 through Lolo Pass. Long ways between any kind of services. More of a forest road through lush country, but a beautiful ride. Lots of pullovers, history boards to read about Lewis and Clark's expedition, and hiking trails. We met one guy stuck with a motorcycle flat along the road. NO cell phone service. Luckily, he... I was making a fast dash across country and planned a 700 mile day prior to the day I wanted to meander along this road; it was worth that long driving day. This is a beautiful stretch of road with lots of places to turn out, hike or just make the leisurely drive. There will be, no doubt, those who... More
